The Grand Opening Was...Grand!

What a successful Opening!  The store was packed, baskets were filled and people were having a great time! So many of my regular customers showed up and thanked me for still being there!  Every day I've had to restock and I'm running out of stuff to bring in!  I doubt there will be any good sales this week due to the July 4th holiday but we shall see.  In the meantime, here are some more photos to tempt you to come in and shop!

NRH Hive Collective Grand Opening June 27!

Great news!  The Bees are buzzing and the shoppers are showing up in droves! There was a 'soft opening' on the 16th and boy, is the public happy! The store has been packed every day since and buying is definitely on their minds!  I have had record sales every day since and there is no sign of it stopping. Oh, I know. It will slow down but all signs point in the direction that people missed the opportunity to shop 200 small businesses under one roof.  Terrific businesses!  Children's clothes, men's items, hand made goods, home decor...you name it! All quality items! And of course, my 2 booths filled with Vintage goodies. Well, they WERE filled until the last 3 days!  I only hope there are some great estate sales so I can buy more to fill them up before Saturday!

Anyway, mark your calendar, June 27, 2026 be at the NRH Hive Collective from 10-6, 7800 Blvd. 26 in North Richland Hills, Texas.  My booths are D17 and D18!

You can thank  me later.

Fingers crossed the final building inspection goes well today!  In case you love books, so do I!  I have a bookshelf in my booth with quite a variety! I carry lots of Gooseberry Patch cookbooks, vintage books, children's old school readers!  Here's a peek at what you will find!  And if you love recipes, I also have several vintage recipe boxes with old hand written recipes!

The NRH Hive Collective Opening Soon!

It's going to happen! The Bees are rising from the ashes of the Painted Tree!  Soft opening is scheduled for June 16th with a Grand Opening around the 27th.  I am so ready!  I have 2 booths across the aisle from each other, D17 & D18, and they are filled with lots of vintage finds (pun intended). :)

Today I want to tell you about the green glowing Uranium Glass, one of my very favorite things.

 Here is a little history:

Uranium glass was primarily mass-produced from the 1830 until World War II, with its peak period of popularity spanning the late 19th century through the 1920s. While production halted due to wartime uranium restrictions, limited amounts have occasionally been made since.

The timeline of uranium glass production is broken down into four distinct eras:

Invention (1830s): Bohemian glassmaker Josef Riedel is credited with first inventing and manufacturing uranium glass. He developed its iconic translucent yellow and yellow-green hues.

Peak Popularity (1940-1950s): The glass exploded into the mass market during the Victorian and Depression Glass eras. It was prized simply for its glowing, colorful aesthetic long before UV/blacklights were available.

Wartime Pause (1940s-1950s): Production completely stopped during WWII, as governments seized natural uranium supplies for the Manhattan Project and subsequent Cold War Efforts.

Modern Era (Late 1950s-Present): Production resumed in limited quantites around the late 1950s using depleted uranium and a few niche manufacturers still produce decorative pieces today.

It should be bought for decorative purposes only. The amount of radiation exposure is minimal but I wouldn't eat or drink out of it every day.  I have about 20 pieces in the case in my booth with varying prices, depending on what I paid for the item.

This is my Glass Case.

This one is Vaseline Glass.

I also have vintage red glass that glows due to Cadmium added in production.

The bowl in the upper right is GORGEOUS!

The NRH Hive Collective is located at 7800 Blvd. 26 in North Richland Hills, Texas.  The hours are 10:00-6:00.  I hope this inspires you to come see me and some of the other 200 booths in the store!
